Survey pricing

How much does a survey cost?

If you just want the public starting point, here it is. Heat pump survey reports start from £250, solar surveys from £200, battery storage surveys from £100, and heat loss only from £150.

Those are guide prices, not blind promises. Final scope, travel, property size, and access constraints are confirmed before anything is booked.

Current survey prices at a glance

Heat pump survey

A standard ASHP survey report starts from £250 for the usual property route up to 200m².

Heat pump + heat loss

The combined survey plus heat loss route is £350. That is usually the cleaner buy when the job needs both fresh site evidence and room-by-room numbers.

Solar survey

A Solar survey report starts from £200. That is the public starting point for the normal roof-and-electrics survey route.

Heat loss only

A standalone heat loss calculation is £150 when reliable drawings, room data, or Vertex survey inputs already exist. If a separate measuring visit is needed, survey pricing applies.

These rates are taken from the live pricing page and service cost pages checked on 18 April 2026.

Which route fits the job

ASHP site record

If the team needs the site report first and design is not being priced as a separate heat-loss job, the £250 ASHP survey route is the normal starting point.

ASHP + room-by-room numbers

If the job still needs the survey and the heat-loss calculation, the £350 package is usually the sensible route because it keeps the evidence and calculation together.

Solar roof and electrics

If the job is a Solar survey with roof context, access, and electrical evidence, the published starting point is £200.

Just the heat-loss numbers

If the property information is already good enough and you only need the calculation, the £150 heat-loss-only route can be enough.

What usually changes the final quote

Property size

The base rates cover the normal smaller jobs. Larger properties add size uplifts so the quote still reflects the work properly.

Travel

Travel still matters. Distance from Doncaster and awkward access can move the final number, so the postcode is checked before anything lands in the diary.

Added scope

EPC work, heat loss, extra electrical detail, unusual roof layouts, or a wider design route can all change the final quote. The useful point is that it changes before booking, not after the visit.

Battery storage and other quoted routes

Battery storage

Battery storage surveys have a £100 public base rate. Existing PV, current electrical layout, battery location, travel, and the amount of supporting site evidence can still affect the confirmed quote.

Larger or awkward jobs

Some jobs simply do not fit one neat website price. Larger properties, awkward access, or mixed-scope installs are better handled with a confirmed quote tied to the real job.

Best next step

For a clear single route, use the heat pump or solar pricing pages. For mixed work, use this comparison page and the full pricing page before sending the job for review.
