Checklist

Solar survey prep

A quick checklist that reduces design assumptions and follow‑ups.

Use this for homeowner comms or internal prep. We’ll still confirm scope before booking — this is the “usual wins” list.

Delivery: report + organised photos are available in the portal immediately upon completion of the visit.

What helps on the day

Small prep → fewer questions later. If you have documents, have them ready — photos of paperwork are fine.

Access

Roof + loft access

  • Loft hatch accessible
  • Any locked side gates opened
  • Safe access to meter location
Electrical

Consumer unit + meter area

  • Clear photos of CU and meter area (where in scope)
  • Routing constraints noted
  • Space for inverter/battery (if required)
Documents

Docs that can help

  • Any roof works / building regs sign‑offs (if relevant)
  • Recent energy bills (optional)
  • Anything the installer will rely on for assumptions

What still gets checked on site

Preparation helps, but the survey still needs to record the evidence a designer or installer will rely on later.

Roof

Roof evidence

Photos, visible roof condition, obstructions, access constraints, and orientation context are captured so the design conversation starts from evidence rather than memory.

Electrical

Electrical context

Meter, cut-out, consumer unit, inverter position, cable-route context, and battery siting notes are grouped where they are in scope.

Report

Installer handover

The report should make the job easier to quote, review, and schedule. If a constraint may change the route, it needs to be visible before install day.
